"Poem #7"
In memory of my dearest Mother "Martha Ellsworth"
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
" My Dad "
I've searched through all the pages
Of books and magazines
For words of poets and sages
To tell what Father means.
Why Dad's a special person
I'm sure God chose for me
To be a guide and inspiration
For all that life can be.
So it's with humble Gratitude
I bow my head and say
I'm so thankful for you Dad
And shall be all the way.

August is the time of hot sultry weather, when the garden really gets
going good here in Western Montana, we have a wooden half barrel
that we planted tomatoes in, two plants of "Early Girl" & two of the
"Sweet 100's" they are all plant right now with the Sweet 100's a way
ahead at this time, I hope they start putting on fruit, as the growing
season here in NW Montana is short and I can taste them already.
Next year we intend on building a "Hot-House" somewhere in back
of the house (The Sunny Side) this will give us a head start & help to
extend the growing season? Also Laurie has two "Half-Barrels" with
beautiful flowers, out on the back deck that the Humming Birds visit.
Our pretty little "Pesky" squirrels are starting to dine on our
tomatoes at least we think they are? as there are parts of the little
tomatoes that are disapearing! And unless it's a bird it has to be our
furry pals. Right now we have a few days of cooling weather in the
forcast, maybe it will help the fire fighters in putting a cap on the fires.
Brother Ken & wife Jan pulled out this morning after a great
10 days or so visit with us! we had a nice time with them and Ken got
the heavy weeds etc. cleared away for us below the house which will
help with fire protection, we never feel to safe living here in the woods.
The super dry time of year is always a worry time as fire can pop up at
any moment so we have to be as ready as possible for that to happen.
We have not made a trip over to the East side of the valley to
take pictures of the Llamas, but it is on our list of (Things To Do)? :-)

We are in the middle of a (Hot Dry) spell at the moment, here in the
first week in August, it has been hot and muggy, bad for the forest fires that are
burning near here in Glacier Park as well as just above us in British Columbia.
The forcast for the next week is looking better with a cooling trend in view.
