Only happy hearts can sing
Filled with joy that over flows
Troubles vanish if we let them
No one wants to hear our woes.
Happy smiles can scatter sunshine
Every where you care to go
It may lighten some ones burden
Or make a friend you'd like to know.
A loving heart keeps on growing
As for others it has a care
So unlimited are the blessings
You always are allowed to share.
Some part of ourself is given
To all we meet along the way
Was it joy or was it sadness
Have we grieved some one to day.
If your fondest wish was granted
In your heart what would you ask
That some how the load would lighten
Or more strength to do your task.

With winter in full swing and food scarce for the animals
and birds that do not go south for the winter, we try to do our part to make it a little easier for
the ones that stay and and make their home near ours.
We have set up a bird / squirrel feeder, we have a
couple of crazy squirrels that think they are birds! :-). Also I took a heated water bowl
that the dog would not use, and set it up as a "Bird/Bath" "Drinking/area",
which does not freeze and both birds and squirrels seem to enjoy.

"A look at this month's weather."
So far the weather has been cooler, in the 20s &
30s sometimes reaching the 40s, still have a trace of patchy snow, left from several small
flurries we had a week or so ago. We did have one pretty nice snow storm near the end of
last month that give us enough snow for me to exercize our little snowplow we have mounted
on our four wheel drive ATV. It does not seem to bother the birds, this cold weather, and I don't
know why but the squirrels have not hibernated here yet? Maybe they know something we
don't?
