"'In Memory of Mike"

(A poem written by Mom after Dad died)

The room in my heart, filled with memories of you
I visit each day when I feel blue
Of coarse you can't know how I miss you my dear
And how empty the place, that belonged to you here.

The years that we shared and the things that we knew
All pass through my thoughts, in whatever I do
Somehow I find courage to go forward each day
For the task I have chosen, I must find a way.

To lifes constant changes, I try to adjust
And not burden others, So in God will I trust
Looking upward and onward, as he opens the way
For a life that is useful, in service each day.

Another month has passed and not much change to what "Mother Nature" is sending our way, it seems every night we get a fresh sprinkle of snow, just enough to keep a bright topping on what fell the night before, what beauty nature provides.  Also the deer and birds show up real nice with the fresh snow as their background,   we still have deer passing by the house almost every morning and leaving tracks in the front yard and also the driveway every night. Of coarse the birds & Squirrels are busy taking advantage of the "Free Lunch" at our seed dispenser , suet holder, seed and crumb, catch-all tray.
Laurie and I are a little short on news as we have been sticking closer to home and the fire these days, however we do keep pretty close tabs on family and friends via E-Mail and chat, some times with (Grandkids mostly) using the computer & either ICQ or one of several chat vehicles available, we have two grand kids in Vancouver B.C. two in North Carolina, two in Virgina, five in Idaho, one in New Mexico, two in Nevada and several in California, I have a hard time listing them all, there are 21 I believe in all.  I am having trouble getting Laurie to use the computer, even the word processor on it, as she would rather write her letters with pen and ink and call friends and family on the phone. I on the other hand enjoy fiddling around with the computer, I even play an on-line Multi player game called "Continuum" where the kids think I'm lying to them when I tell them my age!
We will be using pictures this issue of the giving out of " Christmas Shoe Boxes" at Ken and Jan's Mission in Kino Mexico, sent to me by brother Ken. He and wife Jan are up in Tucson Az. for a few days right now to pick up supplies and take care of other appointments, we wish them "God Speed".

Weather Information

"A look at some of the weather we are having."

We are having a very typical winter this year, according to the weather people and some of the old timers here, we have been here for a little over ten years and each winter so far seems to have it's own signiture! This is the first one in three that we have had to use the snow plow to any extent, and we are thankful in that regard.
