In memory of my dearest Mother
"Martha Ellsworth"

"'Shirley"
This poem was written by Mom after"Shirley" her third child died, she was struck by an auto, resulting in her death.

The angels descended to our home one day
And left us a blessing of love
That might grow up to make our hearts gay
And teach us to look up above.

A dear baby girl had been lended to us
Along with our two little boys
Her life, while on earth seemed safe in our trust
To complete all our hopes and our joys.

A message was sent safe in her care
To bind closer our souls with our God
Which if we had heeded she might still be here
Instead (Her Body) lies under the sod.

Some say "Heavens closer when a loved one is there
And now I am sure this is true
For the savior whose love we each share
Once died to save me and save you.

Oh, if we only could see this and know
Before a loved one is taken away
With all of our troubles to him we would go
No matter by night or by day.

We could not ask her life over to begin
Since she's finished her errand here
Her life on this earth was in danger of sin
But now her pure soul is secure.

     May did arrive along with great evidence of a fast moving effort by all of the trees and shrubs to display their new spring growth. We had many days of welcome rain during the past month and by roports of the people who are supposed to know, we are still quite a ways behind in rainfall, although we are very greatful for the amount we did receive.
      Again mostly due to the rain and wet weather I have not been out on the bike trails as much as I would like, however I have taken several rides of five to ten miles, weather permitting. The state had let out bids on highway 82 between Somers and Big Fork MT. and they are in the process of redoing about a six mile stretch of that highway right now, there is according to the published plan, a bicycle trail to be included in the project, we will welcome that.
     We will soon be heading out to "Lake Tahoe" in the California Sierra Nevada Mountains, to a family reunion to be held around the middle of June, we are sure looking forward to seeing all of our extended family.
     In this issue we are going to post some pictures we took at the "Empire Mine State Park" while on our last trip to Grass Valley Ca. We hope you enjoy them.

June arrived and performed as predicted with much needed rain, although we did experience I think an abundancs of wind that did wick up some of our moisture, also all through the month at every storm there was some snow dropped as seen higher up on the mountains that surround the valley.
Because of the extra rain we are experiancing many more wild flowers and of coarse the under brush is shooting up all over also.
