"The Wind"
The wind blew hard
The dust rolled high.
Blotting out the mountains
Reaching into the sky.
A storm was not forcast
For this place today.
But the clouds that passed over
Carried rain by the way.
The wind kept on blowing
As time came for sleep.
Shaking houses and tree tops
It will make a clean sweep.
Some time about daylight
Fell a blanket of snow.
Softly covering the earth
The wind then ceased to blow.
The clouds floated away slowly
Giving a place for the sun.
To shine out in triamph
For the victory it had won.

We were gone for a few days into points west to see and visit with friends, while just before we left a bear came to dine on bird seed from our feeder, some how he was able to reach up and tear down the feeder which was 8 to 10 feet off the ground, without taking down the pole support it was hanging on, haven't figured out just how he managed to do it but he did, ( Laurie said maybe two bears came and one stood on the other ones shoulders? ) also while we were away he returned and tore down the empty seed-cake holder that was next to the feeder I guess he is trying to fatten up for this winter's sleep. We will resume feeding our birds after the bears go to bed. We are busy with getting things ready for winter, like moving winter wood supply into the mud-room and covering things up to ward off the snow and rain that is sure to come.
Laurie was able to lay in a stock of winter squash she obtained from a farm on the east side of the valley, she keeps them on the cool cement floor in the mud room, other than that we are doing OK! for a couple of old Fogies! Older in body -- Younger at heart.
Be sure and drop by if you are in our neighborhood, until next time "Have a Great Day".
